This is way more relevant to my work as compared to my old card. And the digital process of collage making is sorta starting to grow on me (but still mostly a pain in the ass).
Now what to do with the 100+ copies of my old card that are still kicking around?

Promo Mailer 2011
Made another mailer tonight. Yup.
Using a texture as a border is kind of a happy medium for me as I usually hate borders but realize their necessity. It also happens to appeal to my collagey sensibilities. Win.
I’ll probably use about 4 different mailers but lemmie fish for some more feedback (cos you guys are awesome). Better than the last one? Worse? Even?

While on the Subject of Self Promotion…
This was my old business card from back in 2008(ish).
It was hastily made in a digital illustration class and has next to nothing to do with my art as it is now (and was only marginally relevant to the stuff I was doing back then).
My new card will probably have the same look as my society 6 / etsy logo banner. Either that or it’ll have my Hoop logo on it and little else.
Now is a good time for me to re-learn some digital tricks I’ve long since forgotten.

‘Hoop and Stick Flier Promo Postcard Mailer Bonanza Thingy of Fun Sparkle Time and Happiness Hour (Ver.1)’
I’m making promo mailers, fliers, and business cards in preparation for an upcoming onslaught on Raleigh / Cary area businesses, coffee shops, bookstores, and galleries. This is the first comp. I’m debating on whether the semi opaque boxes around the type are a good idea, or if I should just bite the bullet and have a solid frame around the postcard with my info in the top and bottom margins.
On one hand, I freaking hate borders. Full bleeds are my mom.
On the other, I haven’t made any recent art with extra textual info in mind. So a border might function better.
Feedback is appreciated. Whatchya guys think?
